Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a condition characterized by persistent, intrusive, unwanted thoughts or obsessions that lead to repetitive behaviors or compulsions. Individuals with OCD often feel anxious or distressed if they do not perform these rituals. Not all instances of OCD involve compulsive behaviors. The looping thoughts that often affect those with OCD alone can cause people to feel trapped in a cycle of obsessive ideas or worries that they can't seem to control or shake off. These thoughts can be distressing and overwhelming, causing a great deal of anxiety for those experiencing them. The repetitive nature of these looping thoughts can make it challenging to focus on anything else, disrupting productivity and quality of life.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder can affect both children and adults and, according to the World Health Organization, it is estimated that approximately 2-3% of the global population struggles with OCD at some point in their lives.

Neurofeedback for OCD

Neurofeedback is being increasingly used as a treatment option for OCD. By training the brain to produce specific patterns associated with relaxation and focus, neurofeedback aims to reduce OCD symptoms such as intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors.
